The age cutoff date for AYL is May 1st  For example, to play in the 12u division in 2018, a player can not turn 13 before May 1, 2018. 2019 season will change where teams are based on grade level.

Spartans will no longer be furnishing team batting helmets for the A/AA Teams. Each child will be required to provide an NOCSAE certified batting helmet. All helmets must be Gold, Black or Purple.  For safety as well as hygiene, we as a board feel it is in the best interests of all that each and every player has their own helmet.. Arapahoe Youth League (AYL) Baseball League

The Arapahoe Youth League (AYL) Baseball League is the premier youth competitive baseball league in the metro Denver area. The AYL is organized by Member Clubs that manage different territories in the areas that we support.  We start teams at the 6 year old age level and end at the 13/14 (8th grade) age group. Our Community Based leagues (Majors, AAA, AA, A) represent our premier product.

Majors - This represents the most experienced players that show the highest level of competition in the AYL

AAA – Our AAA Level represents a large number of players in our league.  It is for more experienced players that are striving to reach Majors level of play.

AA/A - This is our entry level of play and is intended for only those at an early level of experience yet is still very competitive baseball.

For more than 45 years, the AYL has produced an outstanding atmosphere for competitive baseball in the Denver Metro Area.  It is a league that is focused on teaching sportsmanship and life long lessons of the game with respect to physical education.  It is primarily a community based league that supports youth playing with friends and families in closer proximity of where they live.  It is the AYL baseball Board's goal to manage a physical education program that is fun and promotes a life long love of the game of baseball!

AA SEASON OVERVIEW

2018 AA Season:

The AYL 2018 AA season will consist of 14 league games plus a double elimination playoff, for a total of 16 games played April through June. The season will end in Mid June with the World Series play at the end of June, early July.

All teams at age 6 and up will play at the "AA" level.

Coach pitch formats will be played at age 6 and 7.

A modified coach pitch format will be played at the 8 years old, "AA" level; there is not a coach pitch division at this age level.

Ages 9 through 13/14 all teams may be AA National or AA American, American being the higher level of competition. Divisions may be broken down into East and West depending on the final number of teams.

League games will be played on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday beginning early April, 2018 and will be concluded Mid June, 2018. Teams will normally play two (2) games per week, but may play three (3) if needed. League games will not be scheduled on Easter Sunday, Spring Break week, or Memorial Day weekend.

  • Please note: games WILL be played on Mother’s Day. In the event of game cancelations, makeup games WILL be played at the discretion of the AYL Baseball Board. That may require a weekday game.
  • PLEASE NOTE: Weekends that show no games does not mean it will not have games, weather does impact baseball and games will be loaded on available weekends for play.

At the conclusion of the 14 league games, ALL TEAMS will be seeded for the double elimination playoffs. Teams will play until they have lost two (2) games. Playoff games will begin Mid June 2018 with the World Series played late June at (TBD).

  • Please Note: All seeding is done by the AYL baseball board.
